Octium founders, Fahad Al Hajiri and Alanood Al Sabah, collaborated with renowned Spanish artist Jaime Hayon to make their vision a reality. A designer who shares Octium’s sensibilities, Hayon is recognized for blurring the lines between art, decoration and design; revolutionary in his ability to balance diametrically opposite notions like opulence and practicality, sensuality and precision, finesse and restraint that give him universal appeal.
Charged with creating an intimate and elegant milieu that also is comfortable and personal, Hayon carved out an organic space that is curvaceous and enveloping; not one wall meets at a right angle. Fluid and engaging, guests are enticed to take in every nuance as they are moved through the gallery, creating an experience that lingers long after the excursion.
A stunning mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau, the boutique harmonizes hard and soft lines, dark and light colors, masculine and feminine impressions. Most of the interior elements are custom made for Octium using distinct finishes like brushed brass, luminous lacquered woods, natural oak, ceramics, and lavish fabrics. Key pieces include a lusciously large pistachio velvet ottoman; magnificent lacquered wood, multi-pillar volcano table with opposing dramatic drop lighting; and glamorous VIP lounge for bespoke design dreaming, adorned with 10-seat u-shaped silk couch, white Italian marble, and brushed gold chandeliers.
